Teeth Cleaning: Dentist's Reasoning

Why Haven't My Teeth Become Whiter After Teeth Cleaning?

Teeth cleaning does not change the color of the teeth themselves.

If your teeth originally had some stains or discoloration due to factors like pigmentation or smoking, removing these deposits during cleaning might make your teeth appear somewhat whiter.

However, if the color of your teeth is caused by internal factors such as tetracycline staining or fluorosis, teeth cleaning will not alter the color of your teeth.
