The claim that white wine can fight cancer comes from the lichenin content in white wine, which is a large molecular peptide compound that has antiviral, antibacterial, and anticancer effects.
However, this does not mean that drinking white wine can prevent cancer. The lichenin content in white wine is very limited. To achieve an effective dose by drinking white wine, you would need to drink tens of kilograms or more, risking alcohol poisoning before any anticancer effects occur. The scientific community currently does not have enough evidence to prove that this practice can bring additional health benefits.
