3. Peanuts

If peanuts have simply sprouted, they are indeed edible, but it is not recommended to eat them. Once the peanut shell is damaged, it is easily contaminated by mold, producing aflatoxin, a highly carcinogenic substance.

Both peanut sprouting and mold growth occur in conditions with high moisture content, meaning that while peanuts are sprouting, they may also be undergoing mold growth. Therefore, for safety reasons, it is best not to consume them.
