COVID-19 Re-infection: Linked to "Goods Syndrome"?


According to information from the official website of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States, Goods syndrome is a rare primary immunodeficiency disorder in adults, characterized by benign thymic tumors seen on chest X-rays, along with hypogammaglobulinemia and low B-cell levels. The cause of this syndrome is still unclear. Common symptoms in patients include frequent opportunistic infections affecting the sinuses and lungs, severe cytomegalovirus disease, Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia, and mucocutaneous candidiasis.
