With this statement, many people felt that they could finally openly have a drink or two. However, is this really the case?
Taking the example of drinking two liang of 40% alcohol white wine per day, the alcohol intake is about 32g. A study published in The Lancet indicated that consuming alcohol of 20-60g per day falls under hazardous drinking and is related to a 39.4% increase in cancer risk.
Some might say, "Then I'll drink less, as long as I don't exceed it, right?" This behavior is also dangerous. The study pointed out that even drinking less than <20g per day is associated with a 13.9% increase in cancer risk, and even <10g has led to at least 41,300 new cancer cases.
