Kidney deficiency does not mean kidney pathology
Kidney deficiency is a syndrome in traditional Chinese medicine, usually caused by the decline of the body's kidney function or the imbalance of kidney yin and yang, resulting in a series of symptoms and signs. Kidney deficiency does not equate to kidney diseases in Western medicine, but the two are related. In traditional Chinese medicine, the manifestations of kidney deficiency may include sore and weak lower back and knees, dizziness, blurred vision, decline in sexual function, frequent urination, and premature ejaculation. These symptoms are not necessarily problems with the kidneys themselves; they may also be caused by diseases of other organs or systems. Therefore, the diagnosis of kidney deficiency requires a comprehensive judgment based on the patient's overall symptoms and signs. Kidney diseases in Western medicine refer to diseases in which the structure and function of the kidneys are abnormal, such as nephritis, renal failure, nephrotic syndrome, etc.
